You know that list of things you have to get done before Christmas, like buying presents, baking cookies, and decorating the tree? Well, on my pre-xmas to-do list, I have to make sure to fit in a trip to Wegmans. You guys know I take regular trips about every two months or so as it is, but going around Christmastime is a must. They have so many fun and festive holiday goodies that it’ll make your head spin.
Mother Cookie and I made the trek, and as always, we made out well. Every inch of Weggies was decked out with holiday decor or stocked up with festive foods. They even had a whole section devoted to Christmas gifts. Now, if you’ve never been to Weggies, then you might think that’s weird. Who buys good Xmas gifts at a grocery store, right?
WRONG.
Wegmans is not just a grocery store; it’s an everything-food-related UPTOPIA, complete with a fantastic restaurant, made-to-order-food, a beautiful patisserie, bakery, floral shop, and they sell groceries too. So naturally, they had an array of awesome gifts for the holidays.
Mother Cookie and I picked up these two adorable ornaments;. Yess, they have an extensive ornament collection.
Can you guess which one I picked out?
In case you didn’t know, I’m obsessed with penguins, and the only thing better than a penguin is a penguin riding a polar bear.
Mother Cookie picked out this cute little Santa.

Since it’s Christmastime, that means Weggies had their out-of-this-world, sublime sugar cookies dressed accordingly. I grabbed two because one just ain’t enough. Those of you who’ve read my Weggies posts before must be like, “Seriously? When is she going to shut up about those flippin’ sugar cookies?” The answer is never because they’re the best sugar cookies on the planet, period. I dream of the day that Weggies gives me the recipe for their heavenly icing that tastes like it was made by angels.

Speaking of cookies, I picked up a bag of these mini red & green M&M’s for my Christmas cookie baking. I was pumped to stumble upon these since not only are mini M&M’s hard to come by, but they’re red & green ones nonetheless. I love coming across rare baking finds like that; I feel like a hunter in the jungle who found a rare, coveted species.

That is only the beginning of holiday sweets at Weggies. Their patisserie is stocked with festive treats, including some gorgeous Christmas tree and Santa Claus cupcakes. They also had this seasonal Italian Rum Cake, which was so pretty I just had to try it.

This isn’t something I’d typically go for because I HATE alcohol in food. It tastes horrible; why would you want it in your cake? Still, I gave it a shot. Leave it to Wegmans to make an alcohol-soaked cake that’s DELICIOUS. It was light yet so very moist and tasty. That whipped cream frosting was just perfect. Plus, it was stuffed with layers of vanilla and chocolate filling.

Now, if you don’t want to expend several hundred calories to get your sweet tooth fix, then give holiday-flavored tea a try. It’s zero calories, but fun and festive. I had a hard time picking; there was sugarplum, gingerbread, and more. In the end I picked up Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride. It really does smell like sugar cookies when you brew it. Freaky! I’m sure you can get this at any grocery store, not just Wegmans.

I also snagged this Raspberry Earl tea. Its flavor is very subtle, but it gives me a great boost in the morning!

While we’re being all healthy with our tea, let’s talk about these VitaPizzas. I embarrassingly squealed like a 2 year old when I spotted them. You’ve heard me rave about VitaMuffins in the past. They’re the greatest 100-calories spent EVER. So when I saw the same company came out with a pizza, I couldn’t wait to try it. Of course, my crappy grocery store didn’t have them, but Weggies does!
These babies are only 190 calories. That’s crazy talk! I had one for dinner tonight, and it was delicious. I couldn’t believe I got the whole thing for under 200 cals, plus it’s packed with fiber and protein. Double win!
Let’s be unhealthy now and talk about the greatest product discovery I’ve made this year: Wegmans Mac & Cheese Ravioli.
This is the 3rd time I’ve flipped out over the stuff, and those of you who don’t have a Wegmans must hate me. I’m sorry; they’re just so good, and the world needs to know! It’s like inside out mac & cheese. They’re INCREDIBLE eaten on their own, but you can also serve them in all kinds of sauces or deep fry ‘em. You see what that bag says? “Club pack.” That means it’s jumbo sized, or in other words, Smart Cookie sized.
Speaking of stuffed pasta, Weggies makes wonderful pierogies in a myriad of flavors like Onion, Roasted Garlic, Spinach & Feta, Whole Wheat, Yellow Cheddar, and more. You can pick them up in the freezer section. I love to fry them up golden brown. Mmm, I’m salivating just thinking about it.
And lastly, I picked up these adorable Spinach & Artichoke Tortilla Crisps. It’s like Spinach & Artichoke Dip without the hassle of dipping!
Well folks, that’s all I’ve got for this edition of Wegmans Wonders. Have you ever been to Wegmans? What are your favorite things to buy?
